SV Loves: Treatment Masks & Joanna Czech

There’s no better time to practice self-care than the now moment. A good place to start is optimizing the basics: good quality sleep, moving our bodies (streamed workouts, anyone? my saving grace!), eating clean, all the wile doing the effort to practice some serious stress-management. I’m extremely grateful and privileged for my health and that of the ones around me, friends & family. Yet I feel deeply for the people all over the world that are struggling and suffering. I feel deeply for the state of the world these days.

I’ve used this time to slow down obviously, going inward, asking what is real and true to me, what lights me up, what feeds my soul. Feeling good is at the top of my list, there are many components to that – it’s diet, it’s lifestyle, mindset, healthy relationships, etc... anything that makes me feel good about myself. That includes skincare too (filed under self-care), because even when I live by a less is more approach, I’m obsessed with beautiful skin and how easy it is to achieve as long as you stay consistent. "Beautiful skin requires commitment, not a miracle."

Joanna Czech is an inspiration. She is an esthetician and skincare brand consultant with +30 years of experience. Her clientele includes Kim Kardashian, Bella Hadid, Eva Chen and Christy Turlington Burns, but she’s truly so much more than a celebrity facialist. Joanna is a beautiful woman, super kind, warm, and very cool – she has great style and I’m a big fan of her signature Thierry Lasry glasses.

She believes that "the key to beautiful skin is a long-term approach that incorporates a seasonal regimen and a healthy lifestyle rather than short term quick fixes." I happen to live but that exact same approach. A couple of weeks ago, we talked about what’s best for my skin right now, do’s and don’ts, and the best faces masks for sustainable maintenance (hello clear, hydrated and luminous skin), which I share with you today. Due to COVID19 she’s expanded her virtual consultantions offerings, if you have the opportunity don't miss out.

The products mentioned below are #czeched* ;)

I usually follow a 4 to 5-step routine on a daily basis, depending on whatever’s going on. Twice a week I do a 20 to 30 min mask (it always depends). Days where I feel a blemish starts to form, I reach for an antioxidant mask: Pumpkin Peel by Protective Nourishment – combined with natural enzymes that will help achieve clear, radiant skin by removing dead skin cells. My all-time favorite is Masque VIPO2 by Biologique Recherche, use this for oxygenation, moisture and brightening the skin. Joanna recommends mixing it with Masque Vivant (another BR staple) and a pinch of baking soda for purifying the skin – perfect combo.
