Green Juicing 101

if you really want to get into the glow zone, juicing (mostly greens) is one of the best things you can do—it is simply the best kept beauty secrets. Organic green juice helps to slow and reverse the aging process, it reduces inflammation, cleanses the body, regulates the bowels, and can even help lose a few extra pounds.

How? Done right, it can give your body an infusion of phytochemicals, micronutrients, and electrolytes in an easily absorbable form, making juice a good pick-me-up and a gentle way to get nutrition when you want to rest your digestion.

Enjoy mildly green juices that use celery and cucumber along with accents like lemon and ginger. Handfuls of spinach and romaine can boost nutrition without adding too much strong flavor. A small amount of tart green apple works here to give a touch of sweetness.

If you like juicing, make it a tool you use frequently. But use it as a supplement to an already vegetable-rich diet, not a substitution for eating vegetables.

Hot tip: it is best to drink your juice on an empty stomach. Mixing liquids with solids slows down the digestive process. It’s better to have your juice and wait about thirty to forty-five minutes before eating solid food.
